All work and no play makes for a burnt-out creator.

Remember to make time for yourself and let your creative powers recharge.

If you’re a freelancer or someone partaking in side-hustle culture, it’s very easy to forget to stop and take a breath while constantly pursuing a positive income stream. While that kind of motivation can be an asset, it can be a danger as well.

About ten years ago, I traded a year of my life for a sizeable payday and ended up flaming out so bad that I barely earned anything for six months after. I had to rebuild a lot of bridges and rediscover my passion for publishing.

Don’t overbook yourself. Get enough sleep. Eat right. Exercise. Get some facetime with loved ones. You’ll be fine.
